This Refund and Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) sets out the terms governing cancellation of services and refund of fees paid to SQ Edutechh (“the Company”) in connection with its education advisory, university application assistance, visa documentation support, and education loan facilitation services.
This Policy should be read together with the Company’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and any applicable Student Service Agreement executed between the User and the Company.
1. Nature of Services
The Company provides advisory and facilitation services in relation to overseas education opportunities, including study abroad counselling, university application support, visa documentation assistance, and education loan referral services.
The Company acts solely as a facilitator and advisor and does not guarantee admission to any educational institution, approval of visa applications, or sanction of education loans.
Note: Decisions regarding admission, visa approval, or financial assistance are made exclusively by the respective universities, immigration authorities, and financial institutions.
2. Service Fees
Users may be required to pay certain fees in consideration for professional services provided by the Company. Such fees may include counselling charges, application assistance fees, administrative charges, documentation processing fees, or other service-related charges.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, service fees paid to the Company represent consideration for advisory and facilitation services and administrative work undertaken by the Company.
3. Cancellation of Services
A User may request cancellation of services by submitting a written request to the Company. Cancellation requests shall be effective only upon written acknowledgment by the Company.
Upon cancellation, the Company may discontinue any ongoing services including application processing, documentation assistance, or communication with third-party institutions.
4. Cooling-off Period
Users who have paid service fees to the Company may request cancellation of services within forty-eight (48) hours of payment, provided that no substantial advisory or administrative services have commenced during that period.
Where a valid cancellation request is received within the cooling-off period, the Company may, at its discretion, process a refund of the service fees after deduction of reasonable administrative charges.
If the Company has already commenced services during the cooling-off period, including but not limited to counselling sessions, profile evaluation, documentation review, or initiation of application processing, the cooling-off provision shall not apply and the fees may be treated as non-refundable.
The purpose of this provision is to allow Users a limited opportunity to reconsider their engagement with the Company before substantive services have been provided.
5. Non-Refundable Fees
Due to the nature of advisory and facilitation services provided, certain fees may be non-refundable once services have commenced. Fees may be considered non-refundable in circumstances including but not limited to:
- Completion of counselling sessions or profile evaluation
- Commencement of application processing
- Review or preparation of documentation
- Submission of applications to universities or institutions
- Provision of visa documentation assistance
- Referral of loan applications to financial institutions
Such fees represent compensation for professional time, administrative work, and advisory services already rendered by the Company.
6. Chargeback and Payment Disputes
The User agrees that payments made to the Company for services shall be considered final and binding once the services have commenced, subject to the terms of this Refund and Cancellation Policy.
If a User initiates a chargeback, payment reversal, or dispute through a bank, credit card provider, or payment gateway without first attempting to resolve the matter with the Company, the Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate any ongoing services.
In the event of a chargeback or payment dispute initiated by the User, the Company may provide relevant transaction records, service records, communication logs, or contractual documentation to the payment provider or financial institution to demonstrate that services were provided in accordance with the agreed terms.
The User acknowledges that initiation of an unjustified chargeback after services have been rendered may constitute a breach of contractual obligations and may result in recovery of outstanding dues, administrative charges, or other remedies available to the Company under applicable law.
7. Third-Party Payments
The Company may assist Users in making payments to third parties such as educational institutions, visa authorities, testing agencies, financial institutions, or other service providers.
Payments made directly to such third parties are governed by the respective refund policies of those entities.
Disclaimer: The Company shall not be responsible for refunds of payments made to third-party institutions, including but not limited to university application fees, visa fees, examination fees, or loan processing fees.
8. No Guarantee of Outcome
The User acknowledges that the Company does not guarantee:
Accordingly, rejection of an application, visa refusal, or loan denial shall not constitute grounds for refund of service fees paid to the Company.
9. Circumstances Where Refunds May Be Considered
Refund requests, if any, may be considered at the sole discretion of the Company in exceptional circumstances where services have not commenced or where the Company determines that a refund is appropriate based on the facts of the particular case.
Any refund approved by the Company shall be processed within a reasonable time and may be subject to deduction of administrative or processing charges.
10. Fraudulent or Misleading Information
If it is discovered that a User has provided false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information or documentation, the Company reserves the right to immediately terminate services without any obligation to provide a refund.
Such conduct may also result in reporting to relevant authorities or institutions where required.
11. Limitation of Liability
The Company shall not be liable for any financial loss, academic consequences, visa refusal, or other adverse outcomes arising from decisions made by universities, immigration authorities, financial institutions, or other third parties.
Refunds shall not be granted for outcomes beyond the control of the Company.
12. Modifications to this Policy
The Company reserves the right to amend or update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect operational changes or legal requirements.
Any revised version shall become effective upon publication on the website.
